Business Trip to London

Traveling for work can be an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in a new and exciting city. However, you can quickly lose hold of your usual routine. Meals out, taxis and after work drinks are still best done in moderation, particularly for those on extended work stays.

Fortunately, there are some excellent ways to keep your routine and experience the sights of the city!

Exercise Frequently

It’s hard to keep a consistent routine when you’re away from home, and in a city like London, it’s often best not to try. Instead, embrace the city as your gym. Walk to and from meetings whenever possible, allowing yourself to explore London’s neighborhoods on foot while staying active. For variety, look into local fitness classes that allow drop-ins or single-lesson payments—many yoga studios, dance classes, and gyms in London offer flexible options for visitors. Make use of Boris bikes to get around, letting you exercise and sightsee as you travel between meetings. And if none of these options fit, take a brisk walk around your accommodation or even do a quick bodyweight routine indoors—no need for much space, just a little determination.

Good Nutrition

But more than exercise, eating right is key to remaining healthy while on a business trip. The best meals are those you make yourself from all-fresh ingredients, combined in ways that suit your palate, but these can be hard to come by when you’re away from home. Or, at least, they used to be hard to come by! Today, some restaurants pride themselves on serving healthy, low-food-mile foods to their patrons – a quick Google search will find the closest of these to your accommodations. But why leave your accommodation in search of a meal when you can cook for yourself if you rent a serviced apartment for the duration of your visit? These apartments can be fully catered, using reciprocal agreements with local hotels and restaurants, or they can come with fully equipped kitchens – and the latter is excellent for letting you take care of your nutritional needs in the simplest (and most cost-effective) way: by preparing your own meals! If serviced apartments sound like the solution you didn’t know you were looking for, check out this London aparthotels website here.

Mindfulness

Finally, with all the bustling about, growing your business enterprise, trying to stay exercised and well-fed, there is one more aspect to healthy living: taking time to experience and enjoy the world around you. Take some time every day to do something that makes you happy or relaxed: do a bit of window shopping, visit a museum or art gallery, or even go and sit mindlessly at a coffee shop for an hour or so, just watching people going about their lives. Whichever pursuit your choose, do it mindfully, telling yourself that these minutes are for you. These seemingly ‘wasted’ moments will help you to remember why you are building the business in the first place, so that you will, in the future, have the time and money to do the things that you love.
